Regulatory Update: Turkey

On September 15, 2023, an important Update on Regulatory Repeal and Evaluation in Turkey was published. This update, referenced as Announcement of Repeal No. 2023/KK-4, marks the repeal of the prior Interim Announcement No. 2021/KK-4. This change has come into effect in response to recent developments, specifically, the World Health Organization (WHO) declaration on May 5, 2023, signaling the end of the “global pandemic.”

It is important to note two key changes:

  1. Effective September 15, 2023, no time extensions will be granted for documents requiring physical or nonphysical applications that have not undergone the apostille or embassy/consulate approval procedures within the framework of the provisions in Announcement No. 2021/KK-4.

  2. Starting September 15, 2023, all document applications will be exclusively evaluated within the context of the provisions stipulated in Announcement No. 2022/KK-1.
